Engulfed by endless
streams of information, TV, Radio, cell phone, computer, and GPS…. real time, both
factual and frivolous. Truth often becomes blurred, and universal thoughts and
images often become a wash, and the human condition becomes distorted if not out
right lost by the mass image.
My work looks at time lines of where we have been (collectively as well as
personally) where we are and where we could be. It’s about journeys.
Often my work is jammed with images
and metaphors as a Marquez novel or Dylan song, telling stories of the world
both socially as well as spiritually.
I strive to produce thought provoking work that asks the viewer what is
being said. What I want is a response good or bad …questions are great! If you
are disturbed or moved all the better but not by shock but by something deeper
and lasting something recognizable in ones self….
An internal response to an external image is in my opinion one of the
highest achievements of visual art, it is something that stays with you, it
transcends borders or language it is global…for all people. It is this desire
to speak beyond cultures to that common thread that links us all which
continues to drive my work to what ever end it finds.
